It is time to start using your roof!  Don t allow ignorant fools to deny the endless possibilities that your roof can do for you.  At the bare bones minimal we need to see solar thermal integration introduced in all roofing.  This small but very successful upgrade can give you more power than you could ever imagine.  And of course let’s not forget to mention the 30% tax credit tax form 5695.  Let’s stop letting people make you believe that putting wholes in your roof over time will not be a detriment to its integrity.  And if you believe it won’t leak you probably also believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Clause.  Wake up stop letting these oil conglomerates from getting away with dumbing us down leading us to believe that we are at the mercy of them.  Get ready because the tides of change are on the horizon.  Inexpensive high performing integrations are here and we will continue to better ourselves.  Never forget there is no reason why your roof surface has to be battling the radiant heat provided from the sun cooking interiors.  And for those of you with shingles go by a infared heat gun and take a reading of your shingle roof on a hot day you will see numbers of at least 150 degrees if not more.  So if you thought going

with shingle was the better choice you may want to reconsider especially in the summer when you run your AC all day with little success of reaching desired interior ambient temperatures.  Why should we fight the sun and the heat let’s join forces and use this power mother nature has given.  We also offer rotrofit over shingle which means we can go directly over shingle giving a cost savings by avoiding expensive demolition and redirecting that investment to solar thermal and solar electric integrations.

Artezanos Inc’s. building-integrated and modular solar thermal energy systems combine solar thermal and solar electric to maximize energy production on a per-square-foot basis. Photovoltaic (PV) thermal collection systems can be installed below many varieties of convex roofing tile. To maximize the heat and energy of from the sun, solar (PV) panels can be added and integrated into the building envelope creating a hybrid solar energy system. Now your roof can heat, cool and generate electricity at the same time! And the systems interact synergistically with one another, with the PV system’s performance improving as it is cooled by the solar thermal system.

Installed during new construction, renovation or a re-roofing process, the thermal system absorbs heat generated by the sun shining on a roof , which is then transferred to a concealed thermal collection system. Depending upon location and design, an open or closed loop system pumps water through conventional heat transfer and distribution systems. In hotter months, as the system collects solar energy as heat, it simultaneously reduces the heat load on attic spaces and reduces cooling costs and operating costs.

Because the thermal systems are concealed below the roof, they are hidden from the elements too. The nearly indestructible renewable energy system becomes an integral part of a hardened building envelope that provides storm resistance, energy security, and lower building operating costs by replacing fossil fuels and electricity with solar energy. Integrated solar thermal systems qualify for government energy incentives that accelerate payback. Additionally, LEED points are maximized with high performance hybrid PV Thermal Roofing Systems.

Solar electric tile integration. This is a topic that has been very highly scrutenized. Why do we care about this type of roof system? Basically the way it works is that we are extremely dependant on petroleum for our survival. Unfortunately the most abundant energy source is the one we try to combat everyday, THE SUN. All day we run air conditioners and spend money on all kinds of so called Energy Star products, but we ignore one basic concept…..that is, our roof is a totally an unused area of valuable real estate. Roofs are very tricky since it is important not to compromise its water proof integrity. You see all kinds of solar installers constantly promoting rack mounted systems with penetrations. I don’t know about you, but if I was trying to stay dry, 30 plus holes in my roof might complicate things a little! And this reason is why we have invented T.I.P.V. (Tile Integrated Photovoltaic). Remember this acronym for this is the only succesful way to introduce solar into residential sloped roofing without the high costs and poor aesthetic appeal. Another important term is “Useful Life”. The average roofer warranties a job for ten years and panels are sometimes for twenty. Simple math would dictate that if your roof is…… lets say 12 years old and choose to retrofit you’ve lost the ten year warranty period and have made penetrations in a roof that may be reaching the end of the term of its useful life. What we would like to accomplish is the integration right from the beginning so both technologies will have the longest useful life together. We do this without one single pentration to the deck by replacing nails, screws, and bolts with foam adhesive which is becoming the industry standard for highest performance.
